Second Indiana resident charged in Jacksonville murder case

JACKSONVILLE, NC (WITN) - A second person has been arrested in this week's shooting death at a Jacksonville motel.

Jacksonville police say Indiana State Police arrested Joselyn Dotlich, of Indianapolis this morning. The 23-year-old is charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Felicia Parker was shot Tuesday at the Budget Inn on Marine Boulevard. The 41-year-old Jacksonville woman later died at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

Jamie Weaks was arrested in Indianapolis the next day on a murder charge. The 22-year-old man said he will voluntarily return to North Carolina to face charges, according to police.

Weaks is expected to be returned to Onslow County in the coming days, while the extradition process has just begun for Dotlich.

Indiana State Police have arrested the suspect wanted in connection to a daytime shooting in Jacksonville.

Authorities took Jamie Weaks into custody at 6:42pm Wednesday. He's charged with an open count of murder and is being held under no bond.

The extradition process is underway to bring him back to Jacksonville to face the charges against him.

Jacksonville Police say Weaks shot Felicia Parker, 41, at the Budget Inn on Marine Boulevard at 3pm Tuesday.

She was taken from the scene to Onslow Memorial Hospital where she later died.
