J.H. Rose football standout Tyrick Barnhill is our newest WITN Pepsi Player of the Week!

J.H. Rose head football coach Dave Wojtecki is looking for big things from his Rampants this upcoming season, but especially from defensive end Tyrick Barnhill.

"He's had a great offseason this year," said J.H. Rose head football coach Dave Wojtecki. "Lifting wise, he has come in during the offseason and done a great job lifting and getting stronger and faster. He's done a great job making sure everybody is doing what they are supposed to be doing. I think he's going to become more of a vocal guy and anytime that we can get any vocal guys, that's a great thing for us."

The rising senior at J.H. Rose has grown three inches since last season and has added plenty of muscle mass to his now 6-foot-5 frame.

"Hard work, effort, keep going in the summer heat and work hard every day," said Barnhill. "Practice and make sure my grades are up and working hard on this field."

In 11 games during his junior season, Barnhill had 24 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and one interception. Barnhill says he's ready to take his game to the next level and hopefully attract offers from Division-I colleges.
