FARMVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Farmville Central boys basketball junior guard Samage Teel is our newest WITN Pepsi Player of the Week!
"I can't say enough about his composure on the basketball court," said Farmville Central head coach Larry Williford. "Very seldom did you see him just get unraveled. And that's a hard thing to come by in high school basketball."
The Jaguars won their fifth state title in school history, 86-71, over Forest Hills this past Saturday at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh.
"What I'll remember most is just the aftermath, us being in that big pile, just seeing them happy because we won, and just seeing my coach happy," said Teel. "Just seeing everyone happy because we actually fulfilled our dream."
Teel played all 32 minutes in that game, netting eight points and keeping the Yellow Jackets' top scorer in check.
"Samage Teel's name is out there," added Williford. "Guys know who he is. I would expect his recruiting to go through the roof as we get through this summer."
