LITTLEFIELD (WITN) - Ayden-Grifton football's standout running back and linebacker Ray Darden is our newest WITN Pepsi Player of the Week!
In last Thursday's 25-6 road victory over Greene Central, Darden rushed for more than 200 yards and four touchdowns.
"He's been a warrior," said Ayden-Grifton head coach Paul Cornwell. "He works hard all the time. He brings his hard hat and his hammer every day, and he's kind of what epitomizes what Charger football is all about."
Darden leads the Chargers in both tackling and rushing. Through ten games, Darden has compiled 1,117 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground, while wrapping up 48 opponents on the defensive side of the ball.
"All you gotta do is trust it," said Darden. "Trust the process. Do the little things and the big things will follow. I don't have a problem doing anything for the team. I'm a team player, so wherever I'm needed, I'll play."

Darden and the Chargers (6-4, 3-2) wrap up their regular season Thursday night at South Lenoir (3-6, 1-4). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
