Player of the Week: Hunter Hall
Washington baseball and football standout Hunter Hall is our newest WITN Pepsi Player of the Week!
"He's a quiet guy, but he leads by example," said Washington baseball head coach Kevin Leggett. "He does his work on the field, off the field. He pushes everyone else to be better."
Hall dominated his senior season on the diamond. At the plate, he posted a .431 batting average with 29 RBI and 18 runs.
"I think it just shows the focus that I have for the game," Hall said.
Then on the mound, Hall compiled a 10-0 record, 1.55 ERA, 3 saves, and 111 strikeouts in just 63.1 innings pitched.
"You focus during practices and then you can let it all out during the games," Hall added.
Those numbers -- and that leadership -- is why Hall was nominated and selected as the conference's player and pitcher of the year!
"Hunter was so great this year that I had to nominate him for both because he deserved them both this year," said Leggett. "He was our leader and the team's leader, and we wouldn't have been here without him this year."
"I didn't think it'd be like this," said Hall. "I'm just still astonished how I was nominated for [player and pitcher of the year] and got picked for it."
Now upon graduation, Hunter will be continuing his academic and baseball career at Mid-Atlantic Christian University in Elizabeth City.
