Player of the Week: Henry Jennings

WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) - Washington senior wrestler Henry Jennings is our newest WITN Pepsi Player of the Week!

"Henry's been doing great," said Devon Van Cura, a Washington graduate and former WITN Pepsi Player of the Week who wrestled at Penn State. "I can see that he's developed really well as a technian and his mentality. He's a really tough kid."

Jennings, who is currently wrestling at 145 pounds, has ammassed 118 wins throughout his four-year high school career.

"He's a very strong leg-rider," said Washington head wrestling coach Chris Penhollow. "He's very tall, long. Kind of the funk style and has had a lot of success with that."

After being a backup his first two years, Jennings has worked extremely hard to get to where he is today.

"Wrestling is not really like instant gratification," said Jennings. "It's not that kind of thing. You've gotta take your lumps for a couple years."
