Pitt County highway ramp closed for construction

PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - The Department of Transportation has closed the on-ramp to Highway 264 east near Stantonsburg Road in Pitt County for the next month starting Monday.

The closure is part of the Southwest Bypass project, which will create a four-lane freeway from the south end of Ayden to West Greenville next year.

Construction on this part of the project is expected to last a month. The ramp will reopen at 5 p.m. on August 7.

In the meantime, drivers should use Memorial Drive and Highway 13 North before looping back around to Highway 264 east.
