GRIFTON, NC (WITN) - Residents of one Eastern Carolina town will soon have to go a little farther to buy their alcohol.
The Pitt County ABC says it will close its location in Grifton on March 16th.
The board cites a continuous drop in sales over the past five years and an increase in expenses as reasons for shuttering the Queen Street location.
The vote to close the store was unanimous.
Customers are being told to use the location on West Third Street in Ayden, which is about eight miles away.
The closing will leave Pitt County with eight liquor stores.
