It's been a dangerous few days along the coast for beach goers and EMT's trying to rescue them.

One EMT in Pine Knoll Shores got injured during a rescue.

The town posted video of the incident to their Facebook page, saying the EMT was injured when their jetski was operating in rough surf while trying to get two people who were in serious trouble.

They say the EMT could not swim in on his own due to his injury.

They didn't release any further information about it.

The town shared the video to show how dangerous the surf is and say their EMT never should have been put in that position in the first place.

Black flags continue to fly in Pine Knoll Shores, meaning a no swimming advisory is in effect.
