GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) - This week's Pet of the Week from the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina is Layla.
Layla is a 2-year-old Saint Bernard mix and is as beautiful as can be.
She came to the humane society pregnant, went into foster care immediately and gave birth to seven puppies during Hurricane Dorian, two of which are still available for adoption.
Layla absolutely loves people and companionship. Volunteers say she would love nothing more than a best friend to snuggle with.
She gets along well with children, but volunteers do not believe she should be in a home with small cats or animals. They say other dogs are a possibility, but a meet and greet would be required once an application is approved.
The humane society is also hosting the Subaru Share the Love event. Capital Subaru of Greenville will donate $50 to the humane society with every Subaru purchased or leased until January 2.
The adoption center is open from 1pm-5pm on Thursday's and Friday's and from 9am-12pm on Saturday's. You can also visit the society's website here.
The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina brings adoptable animals every Wednesday at 6:25 a.m. on WITN News at Sunrise.
