GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - People marched thousands of steps inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium to show their support for veterans.
Storm the Stadium is an annual event that raises money for Veteran Services at ECU.
About 170 people climbed 3,200 steps Saturday. Everyone scaled the lower level, while others also tacked the upper deck and completed a variety of calisthenics stations.
Organizers said this year's turnout was even better than last year.
"It's a really great physical reminder for our student veterans that how much the community supports them and how much the campus community supports them," Student Veteran Services Associate Director Nicole Zablonski said. "All these people coming out to help raise money for programming is a really great way to show our veterans how much our community cares about them."
All the money raised from Saturday's event will go toward scholarships and programming for student veterans.
