Pamlico County reimbursed nearly $2 million in Hurricane Florence costs

PAMLICO COUNTY, NC (WITN) Nearly $2 million in funds are going to back to one county hit hard by Hurricane Florence.

FEMA and the state say that Pamlico County will be reimbursed $1.9 million for debris cleanup activities.

Officials say FEMA has approved around $3.5 million to Pamlico County for Florence related expenses since last year.

Through the cost-sharing program, FEMA reimburses applicants at least 75 percent of eligible costs and the remaining 25 percent is covered by the state.
