Kinston police identify man fatally shot overnight

Kinston police have released the name of the man killed in a shooting overnight.

Police say 34-year-old Alexander Baker was shot and killed on E. Highland Avenue. Investigators say the call came in to police as a domestic disturbance.

Officers say Baker was staying with his girlfriend. Another man and two juveniles were also at the home.

Police say everyone involved is cooperating in the investigation. No arrests have been made, but police say they are working with the district attorney's office to determine if charges will be filed.


Police say they have located everyone involved in a deadly shooting overnight.

Kinston Police Chief Tim Dilday told WITN that no arrests will be made in the case. No other information is currently available.

Officers say one person was shot and killed around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on E. Highland Avenue in Kinston.

Police are looking for the person or people responsible in a deadly shooting in Kinston.

Kinston police say they responded to the 600 block of E. Highland Avenue at around 11:35 p.m. on Wednesday. When officers arrived, they say they found a 34-year-old man had been shot multiple times.

There is no information yet about any suspects, as police say they are following up on several leads.
