POLICE: Home invasion, shooting days apart believed to be related in Roanoke Rapids

ROANOKE RAPIDS, NC (WITN) - Police are investigating a shooting at a home in Roanoke Rapids that was broken into a few days earlier.

Roanoke Rapids police say gunshots were fired into a home on Franklin Street near West 3rd Street just before 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers say no one was injured and no arrests have been made.

On Friday, police say four men broke into the same home wearing dark clothes and masks. They reportedly held the people inside the home at gunpoint and stole items.

Police believe the two crimes are related and that the same people committed both crimes.
