Onslow County School Board and County Commissioners agree on budget
Onslow County Schools announced Friday a compromise agreement with the County Board of Commissioners on the budget proposal.
Onslow County School Board of Education Chairperson Pam Thomas and Supertintendent Barry Collins made the announcement.
The Board of Commissioners will provide an additional $1.9 Million to the school system's expenses for the upcoming school year. That amount is $4,000 more than the initial budget proposal.
Representatives of the county's board of education and district staff met multiple times this week to discuss the possible options for school funding, which lead to the development of the current compromise.
