Onslow County is set to receive more than one point five million dollars in FEMA reimbursement money for Hurricane Florence recovery.

FEMA approved the funds to reimburse the county for emergency response expenses, including search and rescue operations, emergency shelters, equipment and other needs paid for to run the emergency command center.

FEMA'S insurance program also provides grants for state and local governments to aid in the cost of debris removal and permanent repair work.

Several other eastern North Carolina counties are also receiving reimbursements from FEMA.
