Jacksonville woman passes away after shooting last fall

JACKSONVILLE, NC (WITN) A woman who was shot in the parking lot of a Dunkin Donuts last fall has died.

Susie Montag's daughter confirmed on Facebook that Montag passed away Tuesday afternoon.

Montag was shot in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot in Jacksonville last October.

The Jacksonville Daily News reports Montag's ex-boyfriend, Charles Harper Jr., rammed into her parked car and fired several shots before fleeing.

Police later found him dead inside of a his home from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Montag worked as a realtor in Jacksonville and was 52-years-old.

A victim is suffering gunshot wounds after a shooting occurred in the parking lot of Dunkin Donuts in Jacksonville on Friday afternoon.

Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Charles Henry Harper Jr.

After obtaining and serving a search warrant of Harper's last known address, he was found dead inside of the residence from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Jacksonville Police are investigating an afternoon shooting in the parking lot of Dunkin Donuts on Western Boulevard that left one person injured.

It happened just before 2:00 p.m.

Officers found one victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, 52-year-old Mary Susan “Susie” Pryor Montag, was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The suspect remains at large.

Deputy Chief Ashley Weaver said, “Detectives have identified a person of interest. We believe this to be an isolated incident.”
