Ocracoke song to benefit Island's relief efforts

GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) - A Virginia musician is combining his love for music and the Island of Ocracoke for a greater cause of helping people get back on their feet after Hurricane Dorian.

Jamie Trent says he wrote “Destination Ocracoke" hoping the lyrics would resonate with those who love the island and to get people to remember a time before Dorian hit.

The hurricane brought historic flooding to the area destroying much of the island.

The newly released song is now available on Amazon Music and I-Tunes and 100% of the proceeds from his song will go to Outer Banks Community Foundation's Disaster Relief Fund.
