Askew's is currently in first place over Brigham City Utah. Store employees say the placement is proof of what small communities can do when they pull together.

Employee Sharon Goguen said the competition hits home for a number of their employees.

"We have paint manager, her name is Debbie. She had five open-heart surgeries before she was 5-years old, and this is very passionate to her because she never had a children's hospital. She was not in one, and she designed our display," said Goguen.
