NEW BERN, NC (WITN) Veterans in New Bern gathered Friday to start the holiday weekend a little early.
Moore's Barbeque was on the menu at the Craven County Veterans Council's annual Veterans Day luncheon.
Organizers say Hurricane Florence damage forced them to relocate the event to Temple Baptist Church and about 200 Veterans were served.
Veterans who served our nation in World War II had their own table at this year's event, giving them a chance to catch up with each other.
The theme of this year's luncheon was to honor prisoners of war and missing in action service members.
There was a missing man table for the 1,592 POW/MIA military members that are unaccounted.
