RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) A new bill that would integrate Holocaust curriculum into classes that we told you about earlier this week has been unanimously approved by the NC House of Representatives.
The bill would require the State Board of Education to integrate Holocaust curriculum into English, social studies and other courses at the middle and high school levels.
Representatives say numerous house lawmakers, the Jewish community and the North Carolina Council are expressing support for its proposals.
If enacted middle and high schools will also be required to develop an elective Holocaust studies course as well.
The bill will now advance to the North Carolina Senate for consideration.
