GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - As clean-up and recovery efforts continue in our area from Hurricane Dorian, more money is coming to help the recovery process from Hurricane Florence.

The Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development announced that North Carolina is expected to bring in $206 million in long-term recovery money.

This is through a Community Development Block Grant. State leaders have to wait for a Federal Register in order to start the process of getting that money.

In a statement, Governor Roy Cooper says the state still can't access money from HUD and that they need Washington to help make reforms in order to use money to help people faster.
