Marine facing sex offense, kidnapping charges

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - A Marine stationed in the east is facing kidnapping and sex offense charges.

Alec Urton, 23, was arrested and charged with forcible sex offense, kidnapping and discharge of a firearm.

Arrest warrants indicate Urton is accused of firing a shotgun in the front yard of a home in Jacksonville and forcing a woman from Wilmington to engage in sexual activity with him.

A spokesperson with Jacksonville police says the incident happened on October 7.

He was taken into custody without incident. Naval Criminal Investigative Services – Carolinas Field Office assisted in his arrest.

Online records show that he posted his $100,000 bail. He's due back in court on December 18.
