A New River Marine is accused of trying to have sex with an underage teenage girl that he met online.

Lance Corporal Justin Collins is charged with solicitation of a child by computer, first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and indecent liberties with a child.

The 21-year-old Marine was arrested Thursday at the air station by Pender County deputies.

Deputies say the Marine was messaging two teens on Snapchat, with one of the girls in contact with Collins for several months. They say Collins eventually wanted to meet the teen for sexual relations in Pender County.

Deputies say they're asking that anyone else who may have had similar experiences with the Marine to call them at 910-259-1437.

Collins, who is assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 272, is in jail on a $200,000 bond.
