Man who confessed to DC police about murder has Greene County connection

WASHINGTON (WITN) - A man who told Washington, D.C. police that he killed someone in North Carolina has ties to Greene County.

Metropolitan police say Jaron Kubler was in Washington early Sunday when he approached an officer.

The 29-year-old Kernersville man has been charged as a fugitive from justice after D.C. police had Forsyth County deputies go to his home where they found a woman dead.

Records show Kubler served two-years nine-months in state prison for a 2013 attempted murder conviction from Greene County. The victim in that case was Wonnte Wynn and Kubler was paroled in 2015.

The man is being held in D.C. until North Carolina authorities can bring him back to face charges.

The name of the dead woman found has not yet been released.
