A man on a fishing boat in the Pamlico Sound who had heart attack symptoms was airlifted to a Greenville hospital Tuesday night.
The U.S. Coast Guard says the 63-year-old man was aboard 'Papa's Girl' and it was reported to them around 5:30 p.m.
A boat from the Coast Guard Station Hatteras Inlet and a helicopter from Elizabeth City responded.
Because of fishing gear obstructions on the fishing boat, the man was first moved to the Coast Guard boat before being hoisted onto the MH-60 Jayhawk.
He was taken to Vidant Medical Center and there's no word on his condition.
