Man charged in Pitt County shooting held under $2 million bond

PITT COUNTY, NC (WITN) - A man who was wanted for a shooting earlier this month is now in custody.

Ayden police arrested Milton German, 50, and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a firearm by felon and assault by pointing a gun.

Officers say German got into a fight with another man and shot him once in the stomach before leaving the scene on August 19.

The victim, who's name has not been released, was taken to Vidant Medical Center. There's no word on his condition.

German is being held under a $2 million bond at the Pitt County jail. He was scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday morning.
