16-year-old charged with Kinston murder

KINSTON, NC (WITN) - A 16-year-old has been charged with killing a man this past weekend in Kinston.

Kinston police say Terrance Epps, Jr., of La Grange, turned himself in Tuesday night at the Pitt County Sheriff's Office after police got a murder warrant for him.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of South McDaniels Street.

Trashon Rhem was shot and later died at Vidant Medical Center from his injuries.

Epps is in jail without bond.

Police have not said what a possible motive might have been in the murder.

Police have made no arrests yet in a shooting that landed one Eastern Carolina man in a Greenville hospital.

Kinston police say the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 300 block of South McDaniels Street.

They found 25-year-old Trashon Rhem with apparent gunshot wounds. He was first taken to UNC Lenoir Health Care and then onto Vidant Medical Center.
