JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - A man will serve at least 18 years in prison after admitting he raped a mentally disabled woman.
The plea of Benjamin O'Hara came after a day of testimony in the man's trial in Onslow County.
He pled guilty to four counts of 2nd degree forcible rape against a person who was mentally disabled, along with other charges.
District Attorney Ernie Lee says the victim was 20 years old when she told a teacher what she had endured from 2012 through 2015.
When released from prison, the 50-year-old O'Hara will have to register as a sex offender and undergo satellite-based monitoring for the rest of his life.
