One local barbecue pro will put his cooking skills to the test on the Food Network.

Adam Hughes, the owner of Old Colony Smokehouse Competition Barbecue and Catering of Edenton, is one of four North Carolina Pitmasters competing on the Food Network's "Chopped Grill Masters" this summer.

His team will compete against other teams of four chefs from Kansas City, Memphis and Texas. Contestants are given a set of mystery ingredients to incorporate into an appetizer, an entree and a dessert.

The show airs on August 7th.
