PITT COUNTY, NC (WITN) You might want to allow for a little more travel time heading out the door Monday as crews work to improve an intersection in Pitt County.
A portion of Lee Street in Ayden will close Monday at 9:00 a.m. as part of a project to improve its intersection with NC 11.
The Greenville Southwest Bypass project requires the northbound lane of Lee Street to permanently close.
As an alternative, drivers may continue on NC 11 then turn right onto NC 102 to reach Lee Street.
The work on the intersection is expected to be completed by next spring when the northbound lanes of Lee Street will reopen.
