GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) One new student apartment is still finishing up construction as students return to Greenville for classes at East Carolina University.

Residents began moving into the Proximity at 10th student apartment complex on Tuesday while crews continue to finish landscaping around the exterior of the building.

The $54 million complex was announced back in 2015 and is opening its doors for the first time for fall semester.

One resident says the construction concerns her because she doesn't have a lot of options right now when she takes her dog out. Other residents say it doesn't bother them.

"We're very happy to see it all come together because we've been obviously watching it being built throughout its time here but we're very impressed with the outcome of it," said Megan Grady, an ECU Sophomore living at the Proximity at 10th.

The property manager says the complex has filled 90 percent of its 609 bedrooms and are continuing to lease the remainder of the available rooms.

Proximity at 10th expects to finish the rest of the construction and landscaping in the next couple of weeks, weather permitting.
