GRENVILLE (WITN) - A group of local planners is holding an open house tonight to talk about plans for land around a new bypass corridor.
Pitt County, the Greenville Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, the city of Greenville, the towns of Ayden and Winterville and the DOT, will host an open house Monday from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Goess Center at Pitt Community College to take comment on a land use plan for land along the Southwest Bypass Corridor.
Drafts of the corridor’s current proposed land use plan will be available to view at the meeting. Brief presentations of the draft recommendations will be given at 4:30 p.m. and at 6:00 p.m. Local residents and business owners will be able to offer thoughts on the drafts between the presentations.
The questions that the groups hope the public will address at the meeting include: What sort of development should happen at an interchange and what the county and towns should do in order to keep the corridor’s rural character while also developing the area.
