Jones County Hurricane Florence rescue dog gets married
Slobbery kisses were exchanged during a wedding ceremony for two beagles over the weekend.
Rogers got married to his adoptable beagle sweetheart, Marge, at Compass Rose Brewery in Raleigh. They are both fostered by Triangle Beagle Rescue.
Rogers ended up in the care of the non-profit after Hurricane Florence flooded a Pollocksville rescue center where he was living.
Unfortunately, the 6-year-old beagle had to have one of his back legs amputated due to an old injury and also had to be treated for heartworms. Veterinarians at N.C. State Veterinary Hospital have also diagnosed Rogers with an aggressive form of cancer.
In the wake of the diagnosis, his foster family has created a bucket list for the pup who is now living the rest of his life in hospice care.
The bucket list includes lots of car rides, puppuccinos, camping and marrying his best friend Marge.
Dressed in a suit and a wedding dress, the two dogs exchanged collars and were married with tons of wedding guests on hand to watch the ceremony.
Marge is available for adoption through the Triangle Beagle Rescue.
