Jacksonville man charged with murder following early morning nightclub shooting

Police are investigating the murder of a man early this morning at a nightclub here in the east.

Jacksonville Police say they responded around 1:57 a.m. to the Cave Lounge at 531 RIchlands Highway for a report of shots fired.

Once on scene, officers found Tyrone Bailey, 39, of Jacksonville suffering from a gunshot wound. Bailey died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Police say Jyree Noel, 32, of Jacksonville, has been charged with an open count of murder, malicious conduct by prisoner, resisting public officer, assault on a government official/employee, altering/stealing/destroying criminal evidence, possession of marijuana, trafficking in cocaine, and 1st degree kidnapping.

The investigation is ongoing.
