GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) A competition was held at one local school where students knowledge of books helped them win.
The battle of the books competition was held at JH Rose High School in Greenville.
Several high schools throughout Pitt County had teams composed of students that competed against each other in a game show style format.
The students on the teams were given a list of books to read and teams were asked questions based on them.
The team with the most points was able to compete in the next round.
JH Rose won the competition by one point against DH Conley.
Rounding out the top three was South Central High School.
This is the second year the state has offered battle of the books at the high school level.
