Insurance camps open in two ENC cities

RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) - Insurance camps will be held in two Eastern North Carolina cities help victims recover from Hurricane Florence.

Representatives from approximately 20 insurance companies and FEMA will set up in a village-like setting in a Lowe's store parking lot in New Bern and Jacksonville, according to Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey.

On Tuesday, the insurance camp will be held at 1400 Lowe's Blvd in New Bern from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Wednesday, the camp will move to the Lowe's in Jacksonville at 425 Yopp Road and will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"We are going in to areas devastated by wind, rain and flooding to assist people whose homes and lives have been torn apart by Hurricane Florence," said Causey. "We want to give victims direct contact with their insurance company and others who can answer questions and address concerns so they can file insurance claims and can get their lives back on track as soon as possible."

The camps will allow people to ask insurance agents their questions in person and get help filing claims.
