GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice House is celebrating 10 years of service to the community.
The facility has eight beds and serves around 230 patients every year.
Traditional hospice services are delivered at patient's homes but the inpatient house provides comfort and care when their symptoms exceed what their families can handle.
"They need another place to go. Hospice is about quality and if they're at home but their quality of life isn't optimal, then we are another option," said Patient Care Services Manager Tiffinee Smith.
The Hospice House serves 20 Eastern Carolina counties.
