Several jobs are coming to one area of Eastern Carolina, with hiring beginning in just a few months.
You may have noticed the new construction at the intersection of Highway 11 and Reedy Branch Road in Winterville; that piece of land now belongs to Red Door Homes.
The custom home building company held a small ceremony Thursday morning to mark their third office in North Carolina, and the first one here in the east.
Winterville Chamber Executive Director Debbie Avery, who was at the event, says the town is very excited for the incoming business.
Red Door says they plan to fill 15-20 positions and are expected to open their Winterville office during the summer of 2018.
Matthew Evans, Red Door Division Manager, says they will begin looking for several people to join the team over the next 2-3 months, and then grow from there.
In 2009, the company built their first office in Raeford, and have since opened an office in Garner.
Evans says each office, along with providing jobs and business, creates partnerships with local organizations, like Toys for Tots, and are looking forward to giving back to Eastern Carolina as well.
In the last ten years, the town of Winterville has grown to approximately 10,000 residents, according to Avery, with an estimated 200 houses being built right now.
Avery says she anticipates Red Door to only add to the town’s successful growth.
