GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - A woman from Greenville is behind bars after investigators say she stabbed a man at a popular restaurant.
Greenville police charged Yolanda Cherry, 37, with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and attempted murder.
Officers say they were called to Buffalo Wild Wings just after midnight on August 29 for reports of a fight. They say witnesses told them a fight broke out and a woman started stabbing a man with a pocket knife.
After reviewing security footage, police charged Cherry in the case.
Police say the victim suffered at least 10 wounds to his head and back. He was taken to Vidant Medical Center, but is expected to recover.
Cherry is in the Pitt County Detention Center.
During her first court appearance, a judge Thursday morning kept her bond at $1 million, the woman requested a court-appointed attorney, and her next court date is September 25th.
More arrests are possible in the case, according to police.
