A Greenville man will serve at least the next 36 years in prison after admitting that he killed his fiancee.
Calvin Clay, Jr. pleaded guilty to second degree murder and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Clay admitted to stabbing Caitlin Faulkenberry, a Pitt Community College student, at Whitebridge Apartments on November 21, 2014. Afterward, police say Clay rammed several vehicles with his SUV on Fire Tower Road.
In court today, prosecutors say Clay was trying to harm himself by ramming the vehicles, and when arrested the man's boxer shorts were covered in blood and he told a police officer "just shoot me."
