GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) A lunch fundraiser to benefit fallen officers families was held Friday in Greenville.
Officers and volunteers cooked chicken and multiple sides to raise money.
Plates were sold for $8.00.
Officials say the money helps these families with things like counseling and other expenses during their time of need.
The Law Enforcement United-Team Greenville, that helped run this event, is a group of officers that rides bicycles long distance to benefit fallen officers families through the year.
Lt. Tara Stanton with GPD says, "Even all the funds we raise is never going to replace someones family member but just know that they have a support system in their time of need or somebody that can reach out to them. We have survivors that ride with us during the ride, and that's just another support mechanism for them."
If you want to donate you can call the Greenville Police Department.
