Greenville awarded $15-million "BUILD" grant for road projects
Greenville has been awarded a $15-million "BUILD" grant to improve transportation infrastructure.
The city of Greenville is one of three recipients in the state to receive the "Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development" or BUILD grants.
The project will include West Fifth Street upgrades, including two roundabouts, roadway resurfacing and sidewalk improvements.
It will also include the South Tar River Greenway expansion from Moye Boulevard to Fifth and Tenth Streets.
Improvements to the Town Common Connector from Fifth Street to First Street and the ECU Millennial Campus Connector and Moye Boulevard sidewalk expansion are also projects included for improvements,
A total of $51-million was awarded in three grants for North Carolina.
