Grant to help beach re-nourishment in Pine Knoll Shores
One coastal town in Eastern Carolina is preparing to re-nourish its beaches after being awarded a new grant.
Pine Knoll Shores Town Manager Brian Kramer said the process has started to select a contractor.
They say the town will see one million cubic yards of sand placed along all 4.5 miles of beach at $10.3 million.
The re-nourishment is expected to take about 3 weeks to complete.
Town officials say residents can expect to see work begin around Thanksgiving.
