BEAUFORT COUNTY, NC (WITN) - A gospel concert is benefiting fallen firefighters.

The 3rd annual Gospel Singing To Benefit North Carolina Fallen Firefighters concert is being held Saturday, September 14.

The North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation is a charity that focuses on remembering fallen firefighters and their families. It also works to create a community for fire departments as they endure a loss of their fellow firefighters.

The event is put on every year by the Chocowinity Fire Department. Organizer Kenneth Hardy says the department wanted to come together and do something to give back to the community.

Three gospel groups, including Double Portion, Luther Harvey and Steadfast, will all perform. There will also be food available for sale, including popcorn, hot dogs, chips and drinks.

The concert will be held at the Chocowinity Fire Department starting at 6 pm. It is free, but donations are welcome.
