Gaming machines seized in Onslow County business raids

ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WITN) Nearly 200 video gaming machines and almost $60,000 in cash were seized during raids at six different business in Onslow County.

It was called 'Operation Un-Lucky Charms' and was a joint effort by the Onslow County Sheriff's Office, the North Carolina Division of Alcohol Law Enforcement, NCIS, and Swansboro Police.

Six businesses in all were raided with one in Jacksonville, three in Hubert and two in Swansboro.

Authorities say they started the investigation after getting information that the businesses were operating slot machines and other illegal gaming devices.

Charged in the case are Gene Moore, Jr., Chandra Wright, Sami Al Manari, and Amanda Sewell.

The four face multiple charges including felony operating/possessing more than five video gaming machines.

Deputies say they expect more arrests and charges due to the raids.
