GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) - Police are investigating a crash where a car went over the side of a bridge this morning.
It happened around 9:45 a.m. on Greenville Boulevard at the Tar River.
Police say the car ran off the left side of the road, the driver overcorrected and then went over the right side of the bridge.
The vehicle landed in a grassy area which is before the river.
The driver, who was alert & talking to first responders, was taken to Vidant Medical Center. Her condition is unknown.
Traffic on the bridge was shut down for about a half hour because of the crash. A single lane has reopened as crews work to remove the car.
