CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - One health department in Eastern Carolina is working to make sure your pet gets off to a healthy start in 2019.
The Carteret County Health Department is hosting a free rabies vaccine clinic starting at 11 a.m. Friday.
County residents can bring their dogs, cats and ferrets to the front parking area of the health department on Bridges Street in Morehead City.
Pets that are at least four months old will receive a one-year rabies vaccine, which will make them eligible for a three-year vaccination from a local veterinarian next year.
Pet owners can also purchase microchips for $15.
