Former Wood Ducks player makes MLB debut with Texas Rangers

A former Down East Wood Ducks player is in the big leagues!

Pitcher Peter Fairbanks is now playing for the Texas Rangers.

He was added to the roster Saturday as the team faced the Oakland Athletics.

Fairbanks pitched two scoreless innings and threw 17 of his 21 pitches for strikes.

The 25-year-old Missouri native is the sixth Wood Duck to make it to the major leagues.

He started the year with the Wood Ducks before being promoted to Frisco, then to Nashville and Texas.
