GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) - Greenville police say they tracked two car break-in suspects by following their footprints in the snow.

Carlos Whitaker, 21, and Demetrius Jenkins, 18, are accused of breaking into multiple cars on the 200 block of Belvedere Dr. Kristen Hunter, Public Information Officer for the Greenville Police Department, says a person spotted people pulling on car door handles around 12:20 a.m.

Officers followed footprints in the snow to where Whitaker and Jenkins were walking, just a couple of blocks away. After a brief footchase, Hunter says the two were taken into custody.

They remained in the Pitt County Detention Center Thursday morning.
